Nestlé Professional, in collaboration with the World Chefs Association, celebrates
International Chefs Day, organizing a cooking workshop for children to promote delectable and
environmentally friendly meal concepts while also encouraging Thai youth to be healthy in the future

Nestlé Professional, in collaboration with the World Association of Chefs' Societies, has celebrated International Chefs Day 2022 by hosting a cooking workshop for children under the theme "Growing a Healthy Future," to reinforce the concept of choosing quality food according to children’s nutritional needs for Thai kids to grow up with good health in the future. This event also aims to ignite and inspire children who enjoy cooking to become professional chefs by teaching them cooking skills and tips and allowing them to enhance their skills by cooking plant-based recipes using excellent plant-based products from Harvest Gourmet.

Ms. Cruawan Varunpaichit, Business Executive Officer – Food and Nestlé Professional, Nestlé Indochina, stated that “We are determined to share knowledge and understanding to Thai children through a simple workshop on making healthy food choices and creating a positive impact on the environment. We are honored by two experts in the food industry, both world-class chef and plant-based food guru, to provide not only knowledge that goes beyond cooking lessons but also inspire and ignite the dreams of kids who enjoy cooking to get a hands-on experience. This workshop seeks to keep the desire of becoming a professional chef alive. It also reinforces our commitment to promote child nutrition to improve Thai youth's health and quality of life, in line with the core mission that we have always pursued through the Nestlé for Healthier Kids (N4HK) initiative. The objective is to instill three important healthy habits in young people: eating a variety of foods including more fruits and vegetables, drinking more water, and exercising regularly.”

At this event, the kids also got to try their hand at creating delicious dishes packed with plant-based benefits, with Chef Olivier Castella, President Bocuse d'Or Thailand, and Mr. Kritsada Phamung, Corporate Chef Manager Nestlé (Thai) Ltd. The recipes that the kids cooked on the day included a new Rösti style plant-based beef burger with mushroom sauce and plant-based cutlet on spinach leaves, grilled potatoes with tomato concasse, which are easy to prepare. Instead of meat, the dishes consist of plant-based ingredients that provide high protein and health benefits. The meat burger patties and chicken are substituted with Harvest Gourmet's plant-based meat products. The chef gave the young chefs a fun way to follow along while also sharing inspirational conversations on their journey into a chef's career. Furthermore, it was an honor to have Ms. Pupe-Piyarat Mukura, a plant-based food specialist who has completed T. Colin Campbell's Plant Based Nutrition course from eCornell, and daughter of a famous Michelin-Starred Chef, Vichit Mukura, to discuss and educate the kids about plant-based diets that are healthy and good for the planet. Ms. Pupe also shared about the nutrients that are appropriately obtained from today's cooking ingredients. For example, carrots and spinach, which are rich in vitamin A, are best for the eyes’ health, whereas mushrooms, which are rich in vitamin B, help reduce fatigue and nourish the brain and neurological system. Children who attended our International Chef's Day 2022celebration will undoubtedly return home enriched in both knowledge and enjoyment.
